Too many puppies! Free adoptions at Fulton County Animal Services Facility

February 04, 2025
A sudden influx of 43 dogs, including 18 puppies from several litters, has the Fulton County Animal Services shelter overflowing.

LifeLine Animal Project, which operates the shelter under county contract, is putting out an urgent call for adoptions and fostering to avoid euthanizing some animals.

The shelter at 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd. NW now holds 443 dogs. It was built to house a maximum of 375.

To promote adoptions, LifeLine is waiving all dog adoption fees through Sunday, Feb. 9. It normally costs $85 to adopt a dog, which includes spaying/neutering, microchipping, vaccination, heartworm testing, dewormer and flea/tick prevention – altogether a $200 value.

The shelter is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. It’s open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. all other weekdays, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
