Memorial Day Closure

Fulton County Government offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. The closure includes the Government Center, Fulton County Courthouse, and all Fulton County Library System branches. Regular business operations will resume on Tuesday, May 26. Public safety and critical infrastructure services will continue to operate.

Deputy District Attorney, Special Victims Division, Crimes Against Children Unit

Janice Moore

Janice Moore is the Deputy District Attorney of the Crimes Against Children Unit at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Her unit prosecutes crimes involving neglect, abuse, sexual abuse, and homicide against children. Prior to leading the Crimes Against Children Unit, she won several awards for her work throughout the District Attorney’s Office. She received the Pinnacle Award for her leadership in several serial rapist cases while in the Sexual Assault Unit. She also received the Special Victims Diamond Award for prosecuting domestic homicide cases and the Major Crimes Superstar Award for her work in prosecuting homicides.

She is driven by a passion to protect, support, and help heal families and has done so by working on both sides of the courtroom. Before joining the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, Janice was a public defender focusing on individuals with mental health illnesses. In that role, she was appointed to the Fulton County Mental Health Task Force to help develop a sustainable and comprehensive mental health court. Over her twenty-six years of practicing law, Janice has worked in both the criminal and civil fields in New York and Atlanta.

Janice earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science degree from Grambling State University. She is a member of the National District Attorneys Association, the National Black Prosecutors Association, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
