Drought Status
LEVEL 1 DROUGHT RESPONSE As of April 27, 2026, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has declared a Level 1 drought response for the state of Georgia due to the persistence of drought conditions across the state. The U.S. Drought Monitor currently lists drought conditions in Fulton County as severe to extreme. At this time, no watering restrictions are in place beyond the statewide year-round watering schedule, which prohibits irrigation between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. We ask that our residents please be mindful of water usage and continue to monitor this page for any changes. Residents are encouraged to take steps to conserve, including:
- Follow the statewide, year-round watering schedule which requires landscape watering to be done either before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. to prevent water loss from evaporation.
- Voluntarily limit watering to 2 - 3 days a week, and only when needed.
- Set irrigation systems to run before sunrise or after sunset. · Inspect your irrigation system for any leaks or misdirected heads to ensure efficient watering.

- Raise your mower blade one setting and keep it sharp to reduce the amount of water your lawn needs.
- Use mulch in garden beds to protect plant roots from extreme heat and to hold moisture in the soil.
- Use a pool cover on swimming pools when not in use to reduce evaporation loss.
