Drought Status
Currently there is no official drought response declaration impacting Fulton County, and no watering restrictions are in place. However, due to several months of below average rainfall, Fulton County is currently experiencing moderate to severe drought conditions. These conditions may persist and could potentially worsen as the weather continues to get warmer. Please be mindful of water usage and continue to monitor this page for any changes. Residents are encouraged to take steps to conserve, including:
- Follow the statewide, year-round watering schedule which requires landscape watering to be done either before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. to prevent water loss from evaporation.
- Voluntarily limit watering to 2 - 3 days a week, and only when needed.
- Set irrigation systems to run before sunrise or after sunset. · Inspect your irrigation system for any leaks or misdirected heads to ensure efficient watering.

- Raise your mower blade one setting and keep it sharp to reduce the amount of water your lawn needs.
- Use mulch in garden beds to protect plant roots from extreme heat and to hold moisture in the soil.
- Use a pool cover on swimming pools when not in use to reduce evaporation loss.
