QUALIFYING FEE NOTICE

In accordance with the Georgia Election Code Section 21-2-131, Fixing and publishing of qualification fees; manner of payment; distribution of fees paid, the following qualifying fees are to be set by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners for county offices to be filled in the upcoming primary or elections and elected by Fulton County voters in 2026.

QUALIFYING PERIOD – KEYS DATES

FOR FULTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT OFFICE QUALIFYING

Qualifying for political party, independent, and nonpartisan candidates will begin on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 9 a.m. and conclude on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon).

Individuals seeking to qualify as a political party candidate for Fulton County offices must complete the qualifying process with either the Fulton County Democratic Party or the Fulton County Republican Party.

Qualifying for nonpartisan contests and nomination petitions/independent candidates will be conducted at the Fulton County Elections Hub & Operations Center.

NOMINATION PETITIONS – INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES:
Nomination petitions for candidates qualifying as independent candidates, to be placed on the November 2026 Ballot, are due to be submitted beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.
The last day to submit a nomination petition is Tuesday, July 14, 2026, by 12 p.m. noon.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
The Department of Registration & Elections conducts elections for municipalities within Fulton County, pursuant to an intergovernmental agreement with the Municipality. However, Municipal Candidates and Municipal Elected Officials qualify and file campaign reports with their Municipal Clerk. Please contact the municipality directly for candidate qualifying information.

WRITE-IN CANDIDATES
Write-in candidates must be qualified in accordance with the guidelines outlined in Election Code 21-2-133. Write-in candidates are not listed on the ballot but are voted for by voters who write in the candidate’s name on a ballot marking device (BMD) touchscreen or on a paper ballot.

A list of certified Write-In Candidates is posted at each Advance Voting and Election Day polling location for each election, allowing voters to review it. If applicable for the upcoming election, a list of qualified candidates will be posted on our website along with the Sample Ballots.
