Fulton County Approves $1.3 Million in Funding for Arts Programming

July 18, 2025

In a majority vote, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved $1.3 million in funding for the Department of Arts and Culture’s FY2025 Contract for Services (CFS) program during its June 18 meeting. This core funding initiative will support 159 nonprofit organizations, major art organizations, public entities, and individual artists delivering impactful arts programming throughout the county.

The funding awards - ranging from $1,000 to $16,000 - reflect Fulton County’s continued investment in both the arts and its residents. Funded activities include community arts classes, artist residencies, concerts, exhibitions, festivals, and public workshops scheduled to take place between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

The Contract for Services Program supports arts and cultural programs and activities that provide opportunities for lifelong learning and participation in the arts for the citizens of Fulton County. The program serves as a catalyst for bringing together government and non-profits to support a strong and diverse arts environment.

“This year’s awards reflect the deep commitment we share to uplifting all corners of our creative community,” said Fulton County Board Chairman Robb Pitts. “Our goal remains clear: to ensure that every resident in Fulton County has access to meaningful cultural experiences.”

“Approval of this funding for our partners affirms the county’s continued commitment to the arts,” said Director of Arts and Culture David Manuel. “Through this support, we are able to continue to nurture creativity, expand access, and invest in local artists and organizations.”

This year’s CFS cycle placed a strong emphasis on funding organizations in Districts 1, 2, and 5—areas that have historically received less investment. The Department expanded its outreach through technical assistance workshops, professional development series, and targeted grant-readiness training to help ensure greater geographic and demographic diversity in the applicant pool.

“Fulton County’s arts funding is not just about performances—it’s about access, community healing, and economic vitality,” said Imara Canady, Interim Chair of the Fulton County Arts Council. “We’re proud to support projects that reflect the cultural richness of every district, from South Fulton to Sandy Springs.”

Arts & Culture encourages all eligible artists, organizations, schools, and municipalities to apply for future CFS funding. Applications for FY26 will open in November 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend upcoming grant-readiness workshops and technical assistance sessions offered throughout the year.
