Happening in Fulton: Fall Garden Festival | Composting, Soil Testing & Fall Planting in Fulton County

October 03, 2025

Fulton County's Fall Garden Festival gave residents hands-on experience with soil care, gardening, and composting. Hear more from one of the teachers of the day Environmental Quality Education Manager Amy Warnock. Fall is a really great time to plant things in your garden, particularly things like perennials. It allows them to get established before the frost comes so that they can have a head start on the spring growing season. Today we were doing some fall planting demonstrations to show people how to transplant a plant successfully from a pot where you bought it at the nursery or the store into your garden, and make sure that it survives and thrives and does well. We love the Fall Garden Festival. It gives us an opportunity to really introduce people to gardening who would like to get started, aren't really sure what they need to know, or where to go for that information. We come together with our partners at extension and really give people a boost to get their foot in the door.
