Fulton County's Public Art Futures Lab premiered City in a Forest at the Atlanta Art Fair. Hear more from one of the artists, New Media Artist Laila Jhané. I found out the fun fact about Atlanta how it has the densest tree canopy of any major US city. I was like that's such an amazing thing, and sort of that nickname City in a Forest, I thought it was really fun to play off of. Whenever I have inspiration, especially when it comes to art, I like to play off of phrases or words. I was just experimenting; how can I make this bigger? I was using webcams on my computer, but I was doing it in distorted fashion. So you couldn't see who I was; you just saw the silhouette of myself. When you think about technology, it can feel so cold and isolated. So I feel like with especially me partnering with Chanel, we were able to give it life in a way that I don't think Atlanta's gotten to see before. It was really awesome being able to give the project life by collaborating with such an amazing team.
