Public Facility Weather Closure

Fulton County offices and facilities will close to the public on Monday, January 26, 2026.  This includes Fulton County courthouses, all government centers, libraries, senior centers, behavioral health and developmental disabilities facilities, and tax offices. Fulton County Public Facilities will Close on Monday, January 26, 2026

Fulton County offices and facilities will close to the public on Monday, January 26, 2026. This includes Fulton County courthouses, all government centers, libraries, senior centers, behavioral health and developmental disabilities facilities, and tax offices.

All Fulton County public safety and essential infrastructure services will continue. Emergency essential employees should communicate with their direct supervisors about reporting requirements.

Additional Service Updates

  • Many services are available online at www.fultoncountyga.gov.
  • Online library services are available at www.fulcolibrary.org. The Fulton County Library System will extend due dates for holds and library materials from Saturday – Tuesday to Wednesday January 28. Patrons will soon see this reflected on their online account.
  • The Fulton County Animal Services Facility will also close to the public on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26. Residents may view adoptable pets at https://fultonanimalservices.com.
  • Residents may continue to access the services of the Fulton County Tax Commissioner at www.fultoncountytaxes.org. Vehicle tags are also available through kiosks in certain Kroger stores.
  • The Fulton County Board of Health will also be closed on Monday, January 26.
  • Senior Transportation Uber/Lyft ride coordination provided by Common Courtesy is suspended for Monday, January 26. Transdev Senior Transportation will be delayed until noon on Monday, January 26, weather permitting.

Court Updates

  • All Fulton County Magistrate Court EWI and First Appearance Calendars to be conducted virtually via Zoom will proceed as scheduled and in accordance with the usual business practices of that Court. Staff from pre-trial services shall also assist in these calendars in accordance with the usual practices of that Court.
  • Limited court services will be available for temporary protective orders, emergency hearings and other critical and time sensitive matters.
  • Fulton County Superior Court’s Family Division will reschedule all in-person Family Violence hearings set for January 26, 2026 to Monday February 2, 2026. All other matters scheduled for virtual appearances on January 26, 2026 will proceed as scheduled. Any virtual matters not heard on January 26, 2026 for whatever reason will be rescheduled by the assigned Judge.
  • Anyone requiring the Superior Court’s involvement in an emergency matter should contact the presiding judge, the Hon. Alice Benton’s office at 404-612-8540. For emergency matters in State Court, contact 404-613-5040; in Juvenile Court, 404-612-4402; and in Magistrate Court, 404-613-5360.
  • Individuals and attorneys seeking a temporary protective order should call 404-613-0505 or email familydivision@fultoncountyga.gov. Superior Court Domestic Violence Resources can be found online at: https://www.fultonsuperiorcourtga.gov/family/domestic-violence-resources.
  • Individuals who need access to legal forms and family court information can contact 404-612-2789 or find forms online at https://jrc.fultonsuperiorcourtga.gov/.
  • State court witnesses and victims under subpoena by the Office of Solicitor -General who are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, January 26, 2026, are excused due to the weather incident and are directed to contact the Office of Fulton County Solicitor - General for further direction.

Coordination with Cities

The Atlanta Fulton County Emergency Management Agency is coordinating with all Fulton County cities and public safety partners during this weather event. Residents may monitor updates from AFCEMA @afcema on social media platforms.

Many of Fulton County’s 15 cities are making winter weather preparations, including preparation of roadways and opening of warming centers. Residents should check with their individual city for any additional closures or service impacts.

Stay Prepared & Informed

Fulton County residents are encouraged to closely monitor weather conditions and prepare for possible power outages. Important preparedness steps include:
Charging mobile devices;

  • Download mobile applications or bookmarking websites for their utility providers.
  • Ensuring that they have a supply of bottled water, necessary medicines and nonperishable food, including infant formula.
  • Ensuring they have a working flashlight with extra batteries.
  • Checking on friends and neighbors who are elderly or homebound.
  • Residents can download the free Fulton County Sheriff’s App from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
