Celebrating a month dedicated to inclusion, impact, and the voices of individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners recognizes March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, aligning with a national observance that highlights the inclusion, achievements, and contributions of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Fulton County’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) will host its 4th Annual IDD Talent Show on Tuesday, March 31. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southwest Performing Arts Center, located at 915 New Hope Road SW, Atlanta, GA 30331.

The IDD Talent Show is an inclusive community event designed to showcase the creativity and talents of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Featured performances will include praise and worship, dance routines, and solo and group vocal performances. Participants will also take part in hosting and DJ roles, highlighting leadership, creativity, and self-expression.

“We are proud to partner with Fulton County Arts & Culture to raise awareness and celebrate the incredible talents within our IDD community,” said Veronica Rooks, Social Services Program Manager for Fulton County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. “We are creating spaces where individuals feel seen, valued, and included is essential to building stronger communities. This Talent Show reflects our continued commitment to inclusion and opportunity for all residents.”

The IDD Talent Show is free and open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and support performers as Fulton County celebrates ability, creativity, and inclusion during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
