Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman Hosts Align & Unwind

The Vice Chair promises to provide an experience guaranteed to help reduce stress.
In an effort to assist families looking for ways to reduce stress, Fulton County Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman presents Align & Unwind 2026. 2026. District 6 residents are invited to come out on Saturday, April 25 for an afternoon of wellness and education.
In partnership with the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), the Vice Chair will welcome participants from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum & Conference Center located at 3900 Aviation Circle in Northwest Atlanta.
Align & Unwind, which will feature Yoga and Sound Bowl activities, will provide attends with an opportunity to learn meditation and yoga during a community wellness event designed to help young participants step away from electronics and reconnect with their mind and body.
"This will be time well spent for every member of the family,” said Vice Chair Abdur-Rahman. "Everyone will benefit from learning simple ways to relax and listen to their bodies. Yoga and mindfulness can give them tools they can use long after this event ends."
Attendees will get the opportunity to engage in experiences that promote relaxation and stress reduction, while providing ways to engage in overall mental well-being. This free event kick offs the
county’s recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout the month, county leaders will recognize the importance of wellness and recovery. Attendees will also have access to Fulton County BHDD services. The team, which will be on-site, is encouraging all guests to visit its resource table.
In addition to entertainment, attendees will be able to enjoy a free afternoon of fun and food while also receiving information related to wellness and mental health and the opportunity to participate in:
• Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will provide access to county mental health resources.
• Yoga Session and Brunch will combine movement and mindfulness with nutritional knowledge to improve overall emotional well-being.
• Sound Bowl Meditation involves vibrations from sound bowls, promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and help regulate emotions.
