Happening in Fulton: Grady Opens New Freestanding Emergency Department in South Fulton
Fulton County and Grady celebrated the grand opening of the new Grady freestanding emergency department in South Fulton. Hear more from Chairman Robb Pitts. It really is a historic day for Fulton County, for South Fulton County in particular. But let me be real clear. There were five of us who have been working on this for years before Wellstar closed, and that vision has come to a reality today. So I'm very proud of the five folk who were involved in that, and I'm very proud of the fact that the board came together to support this. Hear more from District 3 Commissioner Dana Barrett. The county has a responsibility for healthcare. We know that our outcomes are not nearly as good in the south part of the county as they are in the north part of the county, and it's just unacceptable. So it's important that the county not only work on this, but work on all healthcare throughout the south part of the county from primary care to specialty care to pediatrics to emergency rooms and hospitals. I'm so grateful like I said to be a part of it, and I'm glad as a county that we're able to step up.
