Happening in Fulton: District 5 Property Tax Town Hall Helps Residents Navigate 2026 Assessments

July 15, 2026

Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington Jr. hosted a District 5 Property Tax Assessment Town Hall in Chattahoochee Hills. Hear more from District 5 Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. I typically host three of these each year in different areas around the district, and we brought the experts out with us. We brought the chief appraiser, people from the tax assessors office to talk about exemptions, to talk about the new state law that allows for the appeal of exemptions until 45 days after the assessment notices go out. This corresponds with the same time to appeal. Last year was the first year that you could appeal the exemptions, and this year the legislature did away with the April 1st exemption deadline and changed it to 45 days after the assessment notice goes out. We wanted to bring that information to the residents of Fulton County to make sure that they're armed and that they have the information that they need as they prepare to decide whether to file an appeal on the value of their home or based on the uniformity or the taxability of their property.
