Happening in Fulton: Estate Planning Workshop Helps Fulton Seniors Protect Their Legacy
Fulton County Probate Court joined Atlanta City Councilwoman Andrea Boone to host an educational workshop focused on estate planning for seniors. Hear more from Fulton County Chief Probate Judge Hon Kenya Johnson. Every day probate court sees families that are losing properties due to not having an estate plan. So we thought it was really important for us to educate the community about what happens when you have a will and what happens when you don't have a will. We also want to help people navigate the probate process as well as avoid the probate process through estate planning. So, we're giving information here so that seniors can be empowered and they can decide the next steps for their hard earned property. Probate court offers information about estates and guardianships. If anyone is ever in need of our services, they can visit our website at FultonProbateGa.org or come down to the office located in downtown Atlanta. We have all of the probate forms forms available. We're also there to answer questions about the process. For those that are interested in preparing an estate plan, we recommend that they speak with an attorney about their specific needs. Once they do have a will we look forward to filing it in probate court for safekeeping.
