Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman Appointed to Several National Committees

The Vice Chair is being celebrated following confirmation to three NACo Committees.

Fulton County Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman of the “Mighty District 6” is being recognized for her appointment to the following National Association of Counties (NACo) Committees:

  • Community, Economic and Workforce Development Policy Steering Committee
  • Arts and Culture Innovation Council
  • Large Urban County Caucus (LUCC)

As a member of this prestigious committee, Vice Chair Adbur-Rahman will continue her work with other elected officials around the country. During her tenure, she will share her ideals and goals and represent all of Fulton County on a national level. 

As a member of the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Policy Steering Committee, the Vice Chair will work with the team to shape federal policy, legislation, and programs regarding housing. The committee will also be responsible for developing strategies that positively impact local economic growth, public works, and job training. The ultimate goal will be to ensure that U.S. counties like Fulton County have the resources and local authority to foster vibrant urban, suburban, and rural communities.

As a member of the Arts and Culture Innovation Council, Commissioner Abdur-Rahman will promote the importance of the arts. As a member of the Large Urban County Caucus (LUCC), she will assist other urban county leaders to be the voice for America’s metropolitan counties before Congress and the Administration.

“I am once again grateful and proud to receive the opportunity to serve not only the constituents in the ‘Mighty District 6’, but all Fulton County residents on a national level,” said Vice Chair Abdur-Rahman. “The work that will be accomplished through this NACo policy steering committee fully align with the work currently underway in Fulton County.”
