Fulton County Proposes Flat Millage Rate for 5th year

Board of Commissioners invites community input regarding the proposal
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners (BOC) is continuing to its demonstration to fiscal responsibility for Fulton County taxpayer. During it September 16 meeting, Board Members proposed keeping the General Fund property tax rate steady at 8.87 mills for the fifth consecutive year.

This rate is slightly higher than the rollback rate – the millage rate that would keep revenue unchanged after compensating for growth in property values.

To remain aligned with Georgia transparency laws and to ensure input is received from thecommunity, the Board of Commissioners will hold three public hearings before giving finalapproval to the millage rate.

Residents are invited to share their feedback either in person or virtually via Zoom at theGovernment Center Assembly Hall (141 Pryor Street, Atlanta, GA 30303):

· Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 10 a.m.
· Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 6 p.m.
· Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 10 a.m.


The final vote for millage rate approval is scheduled to take place at the regular BOC meetingon October 7, following the 10 a.m. public hearing.

Due to a delay in finalizing the countywide Tax Digest, the Fulton County Tax Commissioner’s office sent out interim property tax bills on August 15.
