Since inception, the Fulton County Information Technology Center of Excellence (FCIT COE) Capstone program has grown from 18 Capstone students in 2018 to over 116 Capstone students 2020.

 Students gain valuable hands-on experience through Capstone projects by:

  • Researching
  • Developing
  • Documenting
  • Presenting technical solutions

 Capstone students have completed over 40 Capstone projects to date in departments including:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Digital Transformation
  • External Affairs
  • Data Analytics
  • Enterprise Automation
  • Procurement

  • Fulton County Courts

What is the difference between capstone/intern program?

The Fulton County IT Capstone program is a collaborative-partnership program offered through participating universities that places students into hands-on practical professional experiences within their field of study prior to graduation.

Internship are compensation-based positions offered through Fulton County for current and graduating students to work and learn within Fulton County IT Departments.

A major difference is Capstone programs are unpaid (and offered through universities) and Internship programs are paid positions (offered through Fulton County).

What are the minimum qualifications?

Internship minimum qualifications are to current or graduating students who have a demonstrated ability and want to thrive in an excellent learning professional environment. Standard employment verification including background checks can apply.

Capstone Programs require students enrolling in the Capstone program offered through their university institution.
