Election Day Poll Workers

Thank you for your interest in joining the Fulton County Elections Team. The poll worker application window has closed for the 2024 Elections. All applicants will be contacted by January 31, 2024 regarding their employment status. Thank you again for your interest.


To be an Election Day poll worker you must:

  • Be an employee of or a resident in the county to which they are appointed to serve
  • Be a resident in the county or a resident of an adjacent county to which they are appointed to serve
  • Have a willingness to serve
  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Be willing to work from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Election Day 
  • Be willing to commit to 5 weeks (including weekends) for Advance Voting 
  • Read and write English
  • Have reliable transportation

All Election Day poll workers are required to participate in in-person equipment training prior to each General Election. Poll Workers are paid for completing face-to-face training.  

All Members of the Precinct staff are considered Poll Officers. See positions and duties below.

  • Poll Manager – Oversees the operation and Implementation of the voting process in an assigned precinct.
  • Assistant Manager – Acts as the backup for the manager should they not be readily available.
  • Clerk – Acts in the capacity of a Greeter, operates the Poll Pad, and assists with manager setting up the precinct.
  • Line Monitor – When a line is present, the Line Monitor will greet voters and help them determine if they are in the correct location using an iPad connected to the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.
  • Technician- Assists with any equipment setup, malfunction, and breakdown. They log data and any supply requests for the precinct.

Work Duties:

  • Poll Manager – Sunday Before Election supply pickup
  • All Staff – Monday Before Election - poll setup
  • All Staff – Election Day 5 a.m. to approximately 10 p.m.
  • Poll Manager & Assistant Manager – election night check-in; poll closing to approximately 11 p.m.
