Senior Services Transportation Services

SENIOR TRANSPORATION SERVICES

The Fulton County Department of Senior Services provides transportation options to help older adults maintain independence and access essential services. Transportation is available to eligible Fulton County residents aged 60 and older and supports medical appointments, participation in senior centers, and essential daily activities.

Two transportation options are available depending on a participant’s mobility level and transportation needs.

Transdev Shared-Ride Transportation

The Transdev program provides shared-ride transportation for seniors who require additional assistance due to illness, disability, or mobility limitations.

Services include non-emergency medical transportation for recurring appointments such as dialysis, physical therapy, and chemotherapy. The program also provides weekday transportation to:
  • neighborhood senior centers
  • adult day care centers
  • DBHDD training centers

Drivers provide door-to-door assistance, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available for non-ambulatory riders.

Because this is a shared-ride service, travel times may vary as vehicles pick up and drop off multiple passengers along the route.

Transportation services are provided in accordance with Title III-B supportive services under the Older Americans Act. Trip approvals are based on the rider’s level of independence and mobility needs.

Uber/Lyft Transportation Program

The Uber/Lyft Transportation Program provides on-demand transportation for seniors who can travel independently.

Participants pay:
  • $15 one-time registration fee
  • $1 cost share per trip, billed monthly

Participants must have a credit card, debit card, or prepaid debit card on file to cover the cost share.

Trip Guidelines:

  • All trips are one-way
  • Participants may take up to eight trips per month
  • Two trips per day maximum

Trip Distance Limits:

  • Medical appointments: up to 15 miles per trip
  • Non-medical trips: up to 10 miles per trip

Non-medical trips may include grocery shopping, banking, pharmacy visits, and social or recreational activities.

Participants may also schedule up to two additional one-way medical trips per month, if needed.
