Fulton County District 4 Commissioner Natalie Hall served as the Grand Marshall for the Juneteenth Atlanta Parade and Music Festival. The parade began at Mozley Park and ended at the Home Depot Backyard at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The 7th Annual Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival was a three-part series of weekend events which included a family activities, musical guests, and cultural cuisine. Several Fulton County agencies and departments including the Fulton County Department of Senior Services, Arts and Culture, and Library activated presentations sharing information about programs and services accessible to them at Fulton County.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the last African American slaves held in Confederate states were freed. Juneteenth has been observed for 154 years, since June 16, 1866. The event was coordinated by Program Director, Bob Johnson, and Brad Lewis, Operations Manager of Juneteenth Atlanta. The event sponsors included the Association for the Study of African American History and Community Aid and Development.
