Commissioner Bridget Thorne to Host District 1 Summer Fest

The June 8 event will be a free day of fun, food, and entertainment for the entire family.
Fulton County Commissioner Bridget Thorne in collaboration with the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) presents the District 1 Summer Fest on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fulton County Health & Human Services Center, North Fulton, 4700 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30022.
This is the first year of the event, which will also provide attendees with the opportunity to learn more about health literacy, behavioral health services, COVID-19 vaccines, Fulton County programs, and other community-based organizations.
“I am thrilled to host this event as it will not only be a day of fun, but also introduce our residents to the wonderful resources available in Fulton County,” said Commissioner Thorne. “Ultimately, we must all play a role in helping our citizens by focusing on wellness and increased access to care. Summer Fest is an exciting opportunity to make an impact in our community while also celebrating family fun and entertainment.”
The 2024 Summer Fest will feature over 40 community-based organizations and several Fulton County departments. Residents will also be entertained by a live DJ and musical performances. Families will be able to enjoy a free day of fun and food while also receiving information related to health literacy, wellness, and behavioral health. Come by to:
• Talk to local resource providers
• Learn about ways to support community members
• Receive free health screenings
• Take advantage of the Fulton Fresh mobile unit which will include fresh fruits and vegetables
• Enjoy art activities
• Register for giveaways
Participants will also enjoy musical performances by Jennell Smith, the Kurt Thomas Band, and Asher Entertainment.
